Students in Tianjin Universitywon the National College Student Chemical Design Competition under the guidance of Li Xingang,
On August 21, 2013, the GB3432 Team composed of five 2010undergraduates, Zhaoyang Duan, Jingnan Li, Xunzhi Liu, Guoqiang Shen and Jiawei Wen went to Harbin Engineering University under the leadership of teachers Chunjiang Liu and Hong Sui to attend “The 7th Sinopec-Mitsui Cup National College Students Chemical Design Competition in 2013”. The team was guided by Professor Xingang Li, Associate Professor Hong Sui, and Associate Researcher Hong Li of the Distillation Center. With excellent works, solid skills and excellent performance, they defeated more than 1,000 teams from164 universities including Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University with absolute advantage, winning the first place in the national competition and the gold medal.
This competition is sponsored by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, China Chemical Industry Education Association, and the Education Steering Committee for Chemical Engineering Major of Higher Education of Ministry of Education. The GB3432 Team won the special prize in the North China Division in early August. On August 21, in the national finals, with innovative and standardized works and excellent defense performance, it was highly praised by expert judges and other college students. After the knockout, group and final three rounds of defense, they won the championship in one fell swoop. This is the third time that our school has participated in the National Chemical Design Competition after winning the national first prize in 2011 and the national special prize in 2012, inheriting the previous competition experience, and achieving the breakthrough of the gold award.
